Not to worry, if the male and female plugs match you should be fine.
Its black/purple depanding but just one single wire
This tells you which oxygen sensor is out, look at your vehicle diagram to see where this sensor is located.
blue and black makes purple
The yellow with black stripe and the black wire next to it.
Could be a diesel? If not then replace your oxygen sensor on your exhaust. A bad oxygen sensor causes the exhaust smoke to be dark in color.
White to Yellow, Black to White, Blue to Red.
The signal wire should be Tan. You should have a Yellow, Black, and Tan Wire. The Yellow being you MAF Sensor Signal. The Black being a Low reference voltage. Then your Tan your IAT sensor signal.
take the part back, get a secondhand one
best bet: look up the sensor on the internet and see if they have a diagram. Usually white is neutral or ground and black is hot.
4 wires, the black ones are the O2 heater (on the sensor side), the white and green are the O2 sensor itself
There's no universal color code for oxygen sensor wiring. Buy the right sensor, period. If you're buying a generic sensor for your car (possible, but there are still many different kinds) and need to splice the wires from the new sensor to the car, usually the black wire is the ground and the other wire is "hot." With three-wire sensors, try to find a wiring diagram online to match up the colors. It's risky using a voltmeter or test light to find the hot wire(s), because you could fry your computer.
why could there be black smoke coming out my 2000 calalier
