There are many allegories towards historic figures, particularly famous politicians but not limited to. Galileo is an interesting idea, Piggy in one point in the novel debates to the rest of clan that the monster couldn't be real and that there must be a scientific reason for these events, and he's later condemned to death by orders of Jack (who's sort of a metaphor for all dictators and absolute power such as the Church). Also there Simon , who's also killed by Jack and his tribe, more because of mob mentality. Simon asks the powerful statement "Maybe we are the Beast?", which I love so much, and could be a poke by Golding to the church who are always calling people sinners because they believe in something different. This question's really debatable, personally I see more of FDR, Theodore Roosevelt and Einstein relating to the character of Piggy, and a possible Jesus metaphor in the character of Simon. But a Galileo's a possibility.

There is no character named Galileo in "The Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. The main characters in the novel are young boys stranded on an uninhabited island. The story focuses on themes of civilization, survival, and human nature.
