Actually, you can play both bass and guitar on any amplifier.

But to produce a better and lower sound for bass, you need a special amplifier for it.

I am not sure that there is an amplifier that can play bass and guitar with equal quality.

Just about all bass amps sound good on guitar. Generally, they don't have distortion or reverb, though. The original fender bassman, and marshall superbass, for example, were more popular for guitar than for bass. I own several bass amps and they all work pretty well for guitar.

Guitar amps, on the other hand should be avoided for bass. If the speakers aren't made for bass, you can risk damaging the cones by playing bass through them. Also some amps cut off lower frequencies so you can't get a good bass sound no matter what kind of speakers you use.

Go to your local music store, and if they'll let you, plug a guitar into a bass amp and see for yourself.

Is it possible to get a double neck guitar that is twelve string and bass?

Anything is possible if you have the money for it. If you call or email a particular company you like that makes double-neck guitars, just ask them for an estimate on a twelve-string/bass double neck. Note that if you do this, you're going to want to use a bass amplifier, as playing an electric bass through a guitar amp will blow out your speakers. (Guitar amps are not meant to handle the low register of a bass.) In the mockumentary movie "Spinal Tap," you can see a double-necked bass when they're playing "Tonight I'm going to rock you tonight" You can also research the Chapman Stick, an instrument that uses both guitar and bass strings. It's probably not what you're looking for, but an interesting instrument nonetheless.

Is an electric double bass better than an acoustic double bass?

For starters, a standard guitar has six strings, while a bass guitar usually has only four (there are five and even six-string models for advanced styles.) Regarding the sound and role of the instruments, the guitar is in a higher register than the bass guitar, and is more commonly used as the lead instrument in a band than the bass (there are some exceptions to this). The bass guitar, as the name suggests, is in a lower register and is most frequently part of the rhythm section of a band. Again, many genres of music do incorporate bass leads, such as funk (Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), Alternative/Metal (Les Claypool of Primus) and jazz fusion (Jaco Pastorius) styles. An electric bass guitar is simply a bass with the electronic anatomy of an electric guitar. Like a six-string electric guitar, an electric bass guitar uses magnetic pickups to "pick up" the vibrations created by the strings and send the sound signal to an amplifier. Effects may also be used to alter the sound quality of the signal. Well a bass has a low sound electric has to be played with an amp and guitar acoustic can be played any where In theory a bass and a guitar both have a vital role in a band and even though the guitar is looked up to more by people do not let this put you of learning the bass, as there are way too many guitar players to bassists ratio.

Is a bass guitar better the the guitar?

Guitar and bass are almost totally opposite, guitar is more of the melody leader, while bass is a backbone to the whole bands sound. They're both important but in different ways. You have to try them out and see what you like personally.

What is the difference between rhythm guitar and bass guitar?

I play guitar. The most obvious reason is that the bass guitar is that gives the song backing so it sounds more full. The rhythm guitar gives more of treble sound but it is more versatile and can give off a bass sound too. Plus the rhythm guitar is more upfront while the bass guitar lurks in the background and fills in to give it a fuller sound. I mean unless you turn the bass up all the way on your stereo you don't really notice unless they play with a pick or if you had good ears or it's a quiet song you can hear the "plunk." Anyways, it's filler, but that's just my answer. It's rhythm and filler. The Bass guitar, along with the bass drum, adds the foundation, or bottom to the song. If you tap your foot to the music, you are tapping to that foundation. The rhythm guitar, fills in the holes, aka filling in the music between the beats of the drums, and the fullness of the bass. Together they form the rhythm section to the song.
