Why don't you receive contribution points for writing a category description?
You do not receive a contribution because your category descriptions count toward a Green Thumb badge. Once you have 50 category suggestions you will receive a Green Thumb badge.
How did you lose 5 Trust points?
At this point, you can only add Trust Points, not deduct them. So, you can not lost Trust Points.
Can you get 100 Trust Points?
Yes, you can. There are some who have thousands of trust points.

No. Trust points are an indication of how trustworthy the contributions of the contributors of the website are. Higher the trust points, the more trustworthy the contributor is.
