Not everybody gives trust points. However stupid little genius has close to that. A lot of the supervisors are awful close to winning that.
Why are your trust points not added to your total points on WikiAnswers?
Your total WikiAnswers contribution points are calculated as the sum of all of the contribution points you have earned. These include first answers, edits, organizational actions, questions asked, and community contributions. All of these points come under the heading of "Contributions" in your WikiAnswers profile. Trust points are slightly different. Contributors do not directly earn these points through their contributions; they are awarded trust points by other WikiAnswers users. Therefore, trust points are not counted as contributions, and do not add to the contribution points total in a WikiAnswers profile.
Is there any award for most trust points?
There are WAmmy's awarded annually for "Most trust points earned" and "Most Trust Points by a New Supervisor" the award is posted on the users profile page and they are also entered into the WAmmy hall of fame (see related link). Wow, this would be an utterly long list of users! Many users on WikiAnswers have more than 50 trust points, although it takes time and a lot of good answers and other contributions to earn them.

Trust points are given by users to users. If a user finds an answer helpful then the poster of the answer enjoys seeing that they were helpful by receiving trust points from other users clicking the [recommend contributor] link.
What are trust points good for?
Trust points are primarily used as an indication to other users of how experienced and how trusted you are on WikiAnswers. For example if you see a user with a high number of trust points making an seemingly suspicious edit to an answer, it is most likely a useful edit. However, if you see a user with a low number of trust points deleting answers, it is more likely to be spam.

5000 is a mark that very few contributors have reached. There isn't really a fast way of doing it. Trust Points are given to users from other users who write quality, trustworthy answers to questions. Therefore, the more quality and trustworthy answers written, the more Trust Points will likely be received. In addition, being friendly and helpful towards other contributors may gain you more Trust Points.
Why do you have trust points?
Trust Points will be assigned to users when someone clicks "recommend contributor", at the bottom of their answer. This function is used to help newer users to know that the answerer is trustworthy. Trust points are only for answering questions, not for anything else.
