The Philippines, along with Africa, Asia, Australia and the Mediterranean Basin is the home to the huntsman spider. These Spiders can grow to be up to 12-inches long and move by walking like a crab.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of spider species in the Philippenes. Some more common types include the huntsman spider, house spider, cellar spider, wolf spider (often confused with a tarantula) and sac spiders. Red Back Spiders, which look very similar to the Black Widows of the west, are rare but have been spotted.
