Hello from the frigid North. Most block heaters are installed as options by the dealership in my neck of the woods. When the auto manufacturer (or importer in your case) builds the vehicle, they usually dont know if its going to wind up in Miami or Fargo, so they leave it up to the retailer to make a coupla bucks if we want to get it started at -30 below...GL

∙ 17y agoA block heater is something that you need to have installed yourself, sometimes in areas of colder climate the dealer will offer it but generally its your responsibility.

The tube slides into a grommet in the bottom of the block and the tube is also bolted to the side of the block. Either the bolt is loose/missing or the grommet is missing. The tube may be broken off or pulled out of the grommet at the bottom also.
