It shouldn't be, unless you're unfortunate enough to have an incompetent radiologist analyse your scan, thus potentially handing you a death sentence, as was the case with my poor sister. ALWAYS get a second opinion.
ALWAYS.
A parathyroid scan is administered when the parathyroid appears to be overactive and a tumor is suspected.
A CT scan can provide detailed images of a tumor and help identify characteristics that may suggest whether it is cancerous, but it cannot definitively determine if a tumor is malignant. A biopsy is necessary to obtain a sample of the tumor tissue for microscopic examination, which can confirm the presence of cancer cells. Therefore, while a CT scan can aid in diagnosis, a biopsy is required for a conclusive determination.
A PET scan is a scan of the brain to see what's going on inside. It is used for cancer patients to find out exactly where the tumor is and make surgery easier.
Brain has no sensation. There are very less chances of brain tumor. Still you can go for CT scan of the brain to rule out the brain tumor. Your physician will help you in this respect.
You can run an antimalware scan and an anti virus scan at the same time with less chance of conflict.
If a neurological exam and review of symptoms suggest a spinal cord tumor, the doctor may order some of these additional tests:.MRI or CT scan. myelography. blood and spinal fluid studies. x rays of the spine. biopsy. radionuclide bone scan.
An abnormal adrenal scan may show evidence of a tumor where there is excessive secretion of adrenaline or noradrenaline. Over 90% of these tumors are in the abdomen.
what is my answer?
Only a MRI can tell for sure
Stones and Tumors will have different characteristics on a CT scan. Stones are going to be within the bile duct, where as tumors are likely to be on the tissue surrounding the duct itself. The stones should also appear much brighter than the surrounding tissue (almost white) where tumors are going to only be slightly lighter. Likely, based on size, location, and appearance, your physician has diagnosed a stone rather than a tumor. However, if you or your physician are concerned that it may be a tumor, you can have a PET scan done. If it is a tumor, it should light up brightly, if it is a stone, then it shouldn't really show a difference. If you are concerned about it being cancer, bring this up to your doctor especially if there is a family history. A PET scan is something that can easily be done to rule out a tumor.
Only if the tumor was located around/behind the eye, and thus pressing against the optic nerve. A brain tumor can only really be picked up via a C.A.T. scan.
There are several different reasons why one would be referred for a brain scan. Some examples include to clarify or rule out the presence of a brain tumor.
