yes there is but i am unsure of where it sits on the engine. i am unable to get spark to my plugs and most people have told me the problem is the crank sensor.
Check your crank shaft sensor. Had the same problem, replaced crank shaft sensor and fixed the problem.
The crank sensor is on the block between the oil filter and the starter tucked up under the frnt motor mount
my 96 did same cam shaft posistion sensor
most crank sensors are for engine timing with the cam shaft, the distributor on at least 97' dodge and newer controls fuel timing.
if standard transmission,on top of bellhousing/2 wire connector.
The physical position of the sensor is behind the water pump pulley, where you can see the the cable connection on the cover of the crankshaft and camshaft gears.
Is there a certain way to postition the crank sensor on a 97 k1500?
where is the crank sensor located on my 1997 Chrysler sebring lxi
The crank sensor is an important part of the engine wiring. Without it the engine does not know when to fire. There is no way to by pass it.
its on the end of the throttle shaft on the throttle body
THE CRANK SENSOR ON A 97 5.7 IS LOCATED UNDER THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BETWEEN THE PULLEY AND THE OILPAN. SLIGHTLY TO DRIVERS SIDE
Check the link for locations of crankshaft sensor on 2.0, 2.4 and 2.5l engines. http://www.autozone.com/addVehicleId,2340402/initialAction,repairGuide/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528008987d
