Yes - NYS is filled with deciduous forest. Any of the NY State forest land in the lower elevations (up to and including the Leatherstocking region upstate is going to be deciduous forest and will have spectacular fall colors. You get more conifers as you go higher into the Adirondacks but that's a relatively small % of state forest land.
