I'm not sure if there is a law or not. It is usually against the clu by-laws. The reason is because it creates a conflict of interest and opens the door to unsavory types of transactions. Wheter they actually occur or not is really irrelevant, the fact is that the opportunity is there and others will assume the worst. So, I'm not sure if there is a law against it, but it is something that I personally would stay away from.
