No online course will be effective in training you to be a "bar tender". Nor will a class. If you want background, get a bar book like Mr Boston or similar and familiarize yourself with the 20-30 most common drinks and shots. Unfortunately, only actual on the job experience will make you a decent bar tender. No substitute for the hands on work. Period. Find a job as a waiter or other position and work your way to the bar. You will be trained live, the best and only way to be a good bar tender.
There are no real bartender certification online, since the course is mostly hands on. There are plenty of classes you can take at your local community college or training center, they can also help with job placement as well.
