It all depends on if they get along. You might want to introduce them to each other before you throw them in a cage together. They may not like each other, or get along, so this could be disastrous. One of your birds could kill the other. Since sun conures are bigger, it may try to bully the green cheek a bit. Being that birds are so intelligent, they need lots of mental stimulation that another bird can easily give. If you are wanting to spend lots of time with these birds, then you may not want to put them in the same cage, being that they will get attached to each other, and not as much to you. *Always remember to supervise your birds when you put them together for the first few times.* If they seem to be getting along, and you want them to spend more time with each other than yourself, then you should be able to put them in the cage together. Still, I would always watch them for signs of aggression.
It is possible but PLEASE take CAUTION!!! Slowly introduce the two birds first by placing them both on a large table at opposite ends. Do NOT place them right next to each other ... they could attack. Allow them to approach each other at what ever speed they would like. Keep a rolled up newspaper hand just in case they do fight. You do not want to place you hand between two biting birds, especially conures. If they do not fight you can try putting them on a perch together, still leaving space between them. When putting them in a cage together if it is possible get a new cage that way neither one of them has dominance over the cage. You may find that they will become good buddies and they may become somewhat hostile towards you... Just give them attention if you want them to remain friendly.
It very well depends. My green cheek conure has a different personality than others and doesn't always get along with other birds. If you would like to try i suggest trying another green cheek or cockatiel or parakeet. They may also be able to with sun and jenday conures but i wouldn't go any other birds a lot bigger than him. If you try u MUST watch them in the cage. Get them used to each other before you put them together. Everyday keep them in the cage a little bit longer than normal.(This is unless they have grown up together.)
It depends on what you like and don't like.
I for one like green cheeks the most because they are very playful intelligent and best of all are not as loud as the sun or jenday conure. so I think green cheek conures are actually the best, but its up to you.
Yes, conures are actually quite chatty when you spend some time with them.
Yes, conures are in the parrot category, although they are one of the smaller types of parrots.
Yes, the are quite small about the size of a cockatiel. They are mainly green but also have aother beautiful colours on them
No, parrots can come in many different sizes and colors
No, there are many different colored parrots out there
Yes. 3 times a year
Yes.
Could be a Green-Cheek Conure.
There is a huge difference in size. Sun conures and Green Cheek Conures are both small parrots, only slightly bigger than parakeets. An Amazon is a medium sized bird and will most likely kill the smaller Conures.
It depends it could be an indian ringneck, macaw, or conure
A green cheek conure can be taught to refrain from biting by removing the bird and placing them back in their cage with a cover on. They dislike the isolation. The bird should never be allowed to be higher than the human.
YES! DON'T YOU DARE FEED IT TO YOUR BIRDIES!
The female green cheek conyer will rub her vent on an object. While the male will mount an object, usually their owner, to display his want to mate. This process is called masterbation.
i think he's taking a shower but i could be wrong
No. No animal, exept fish, are "GOOD" for a child with asthma.
No they are a very beautiful almost iridescent bird being a beautiful green on the back. Undersides can change from different subspecies. Also hence the name they have green patches on their cheeks. This is coming from a green cheek conure owner.
No. Females are the only ones that can lay eggs.
Huh. When there is no heartbeat or breathing AT ALL you know it has passed. If it hasn't come out of his/her nesting box or bed, the bird MIGHT have eggs.
That's a MACAW Parrot. To be more specific it's a military Macaw. The Macaw is a large parrot and can come in a variety of colors, there's a Blue & Gold Macaw, the Military Macaw (Green, Yellow & Blue), the Scarlet Macaw (mostly bright red), and the Hyacinth Macaw which is all blue with yellow around the eyes.
