Yes, in the sense that people are arguing about it. No in the sense that there is no mosque, it's actually a Muslim community center that has a worship area in it and it is actually quite a ways away from ground zero.
Not that many, i think i heard that only 30% agreed with building the mosque there.
When the 9/11 happened people automatically blamed Muslims, and since the Islamic center an mosque is made for Muslims, ( and near the deaths of so many people, who people assumed that Muslims did this ) so having a mosque near ground zero didn't exactly make them happy

Lakemba mosque is a mosque for muslims, i myself go their, it is found in bankstown lakemba, and theirs a gas station near it.
I personally don't know what the actual cartoon looks like but it probably deals with someone not agreeing with the mosque being built near ground zero. In my opinion people need to let go of ignorant bigotry and stop thinking all the Muslims are to blame.

Well, since there people attacked ours, Americans are probably going to attack there's. Somebody already peed in one of there mosque to show hatred for what they are building there near ground zero (a 13 story high mosque) I'm not sure what people are going to do but there have been protest and I don't think it's gonna be there long, if they even build it. Sorry 13 story high mosque.

The first mosque was built in Quba, near Medina, in the year of Emigration/Hijra. The second one was the Mosque of the Prophet in Medina, which was buit in the same year, in fact at a few days distance.
