Most likely not. Seismic stratigraphy suggests that the magma chamber has solidified too much for an eruption to occur. That could change if there is a fresh injection of magma from the mantle.

Not very imminent at all. Analysis of the magma chamber indicates that the material at this time is probably too viscous to erupt. Chances of an eruption in any given year are estimated at less than 1 in 100,000.

No one knows. The Yellowstone caldera is active and massive. It is monitored by geologists and the park service, but no one knows when it will erupt. An eruption would affect several states and be considered a national emergency.

What is a well known caldera in the US?

a well known and very dangerous caldera is a volcano named Yellowstone volcano and this a national park but it MIGHT soon erupt. hope this helps

Is Super Volcano going to erupt soon?

yes yes it is

Is the Yellowstone volcano a hot spot?

It is believed that 2.1 million years ago, Yellowstone 'Supervolcano' did erupt, it then erupted a second time and the last time it erupted was 640,000 years ago. In 2008, scientists measured high seismic activity showing that Yellowstone could potentially erupt again but hopefully not any time soon. But in proper answer to your question, Yellowstone spewed lava last 70,000 years ago and its most recent super-eruption was 640,000 years ago. Scientists say it is overdue for another eruption but this is all we know so far.

How do you use erupt in a sentence?

Overheating some spaghetti sauce caused an eruption in the cooking class. The historical eruption of Mount Vesuvius destroyed the Greek city of Pompeii. A skin eruption should be kept clean to avoid infection.

Are volcanoes that don't erupt still full of lava?

The lava/magma comes from the earth's core, not usually stored within a volcano. "Dormant" volcanoes are "sleeping" Don't usually erupt, haven't for a while, and aren't expected to erupt any time soon. If a volcano is considered completely dead, the techtonic plate that the volcano was first formed on has moved, therefore cuts it off at the base. With this in mind, it still might have liquid magma within it, but would cool and turn back to rock eventually, and not able to erupt again.

How do you make a volcano cake erupt?

To make a volcano cake erupt you can get jello but keep it like liquid and get a piece of dry ice and it will cause the "smoke" to rise up and soon after it will overflow with the "lava"

Where is there a volcano going to erupt?

There is just about always a volcano erupting somewhere in the world. It is impossible to predict exactly when a given volcano will erupt, especially since many are not closely monitored.

Will Yellowstone's volcano erupt?

Eventually, yes. However, the chances of it erupting any time soon are very small. The last super eruption was 640,000 years ago with smaller, though still large, eruptions up to 70,000 years ago.

What is likely to happen in the future with Krakatoa volcano?

it's gonna have to erupt soon. krakatoa may not have enough magma inside, but it's still possible for it to erupt as many times as it wants.

When will Yosemite's Super volcano in park erupt?

Yosemite National Park does not actually contain a volcano, but Yellowstone National Park does. It is an extremely active volcano, and it is still uncertain when it will erupt again but it has been hundreds of thousands of years.

Why are volcanoes that erupt infrequently more destructive then volcanoes that erupt continuously?

Volcanoes erupt infrequently more destructive and active than volcanoes that erupt continuously because the volcano that didn't erupt in a while had more pressure than the volcano that erupts constantly. When more pressure builds up, gas wants to get out as soon as possible. When it does, the magma comes out, it pushes and pushes out since all thee pressure builded up.
