It is expected that there will be an increase. Most of the First Class stamps currently available are Forever stamps. They will be valid after the postage rate goes up.
May 11 is the date that prices go up.
A postage stamp that is considered a first class stamp will cost you 49 cents as of September of 2014. This price seems to change pretty frequently.
The price of postage in the US changed twice in 2007 and 2008. On the 14th of May 2007 the rate went up to 41 cents from 39 cents. On 12 May 2008 the price went up to 42 cents.
Postage hasn't gone up...yet. The U.S. postal service has requested an increase in postage that will increase the price of a First-Class stamp by 2 cents, from 44 cents to 46 cents. If approved, this change will take effect on January 2, 2011.
Basic postage cost 4 cents.
Currently , Jan 3 , 2011 , the price for a 1st class will remain the same ~ see related link below .

I don't seem to have enough change for postage.
The price of postage continues to go up. Where can I find an up to date site to let me know how much a postage stamp costs today?
