What you can do is have another SSD and set that as a cache disk so that the computer automatically loads up frequently-used pieces of data and programs onto the cache disk to speed up loading and doesn't require your mechanical hard disk to spin up all the time.
However, if you have the mechanical disk set up as a boot disk, you could do the same with your existing SSD but move all the data off the SSD into the mechanical hard disk and then set the SSD as a cache disk. It will speed up your mechanical disk to a certain degree.
I recommend Berlitz, they have a really great affordable program. My brother used it when we moved to the US and he was fluent very quickly.
