Yes. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is probably the most recognized agency for testing vitamins and minerals. Many vitamin products tout a "USP certified" label verifying that the product is able to dissolve and be absorbed. Remember though, that "USP certified" only verifies that the ingredients are pure, not that the product will actually do any of the wonderous things it may claim. There are a number of other small consumer groups which test vitamins and minerals for purity and also for harmful contaminants, such as Mercury and lead. Generally, most products found on store shelves contain negligible amounts of such harmful substances.
