The answer is "no".
However a lot of Cities are pushing for homes to get these installed all over the place due to them having to pay for the clean up of homes that get flooded with raw sewage due there not being any kind of device at the front of homes.
There are two things you can do to your line to protect you from the city mains and also your main.

Both of those together is pretty close to 100% protection from the city filling your home with sewage.
