yes. a parallel circuit is made up of many series curcuits. so therefore, without the series curcuit you could not have a parallel curcuit.

What the advantages of series circuits?

While many of the terminal parts of a circuit may be a series element, in most circuits there will be both series and parallel components. Neither is superior - they both have their appropriate applications.

To find the current in a complex circuit it is necessary to know?

the source voltage and the total impedanceAnswerA 'complex circuit' describes a category of circuit that is neither series, parallel, nor series-parallel. A relatively-simple example of a complex circuit is a Wheatstone Bridge. You cannot analyse or resolve a complex circuit using the techniques used to analyse and resolve series, parallel, or series-parallel circuit. Instead you must use one or other of the various electrical theorems. For example, to determine the currents flowing in a Wheatstone Bridge circuit, you could use Kirchhoff's Laws or Thevenin's Theorem.

Is tv parallel or series circuit?

The outlets in your house are in parallel with each other. If your question is is your TV in series with something else plugged into your house, it is not, it is in parallel (since your house wiring is in parallel). The giveaway for series or parallel circuits is if you remove one element in a series circuit, you will kill all other elements. In a parallel circuit, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference. For example, if you have a surge protector plugged into your wall, and a lamp plugged into your wall, and your TV and DVD player are plugged into the surge protector: The surge protector is in SERIES with your TV and DVD player The surge protector is in PARALLEL with your lamp The DVD player and TV are in PARALLEL

If 3 1.5 V cells were connected in series what would the total voltage of the circuit be What about in Parallel?

4.5 volts in series; 1.5 volts in parallel.

Is a plug in a series or parallel circuit?

Every outlet in your house, and everything in your house that's plugged into an outlet, is in parallel.

Types of electrical circuit?

Series and parallelImproved AnswerThere are four categories of circuit: series, parallel, series-parallel, and complex. 'Complex' is a 'catch-all', used to describe circuits that are not series, parallel, or series-parallel. An example of a 'complex' circuit is a Wheatstone Bridge circuit.

Parallel.

What is a parallel series?

There are four categories of circuit: series, parallel, series-parallel, and complex. As its name suggests, a 'series-parallel' circuit is a combination of both series and parallel elements.

Are fluorescent lights on a parallel circuit or a series circuit?

series circuit

Is series parallel the same as parallel?

No, series parallel, as it implies has components of the circuit configured in both series and parallel. This is typically done to achieve a desired resistance in the circuit. A parallel circuit is a circuit that only has the components hooked in parallel, which would result in a lower total resistance in the circuit than if the components were hooked up in a series parallel configuration.

What is resistive network?

A resistance 'network' consists of a number of resistors connected together in series, or in parallel, or in series-parallel, or as a complex circuit. A 'complex' circuit is one that is not series, parallel, or series-parallel.
