7-Zip doesn't know folder path of drop target. Only Windows Explorer knows exact drop target. And Windows Explorer needs files (drag source) as decompressed files on disk. So 7-Zip extracts files from archive to temp folder and then 7-Zip notifies Windows Explorer about paths of these temp files. Then Windows Explorer copies these files to drop target folder. To avoid temp file usage, you can use Extract command of 7-Zip or drag-and-drop from 7-Zip to 7-Zip.

If you rewrite your backup files. Then, yes your backup files will be rewrited (they might be the same or they can be different). The best way is to backup your files in another folder. If you are using standard window backup procedure your source files are safe because the windows backup utility just copies your files, but doesn't remove them. If you are using utility which wasn't a standard part of windows then you have to check settings very carefully. Some backup utilities do remove files instead of coping them.

In there a Source folder which is where you save your script. Make sure you save the source as a .java or if it is a .class (already compiled Java code) put it into the pre-compiled folder. Once you have your .java source in the the folder back track and you should see a Compile Scripts CMD. Make sure you have java JDK (google it and download) then run the .bat. The path is the actual directions to a file describing every step. This often happen when u have it in a folder, fro example you store your Math Homework in a folder called School Stuff, in a default folder My Documents, using the user Tom.Therefore the path will be Users>Tom>My Documents>School Stuff>Math_Homework.docxHowever the source, i guess would be the one place that it came from, which is the School Stuff folder.
