I do not believe there is a time imitation on reporting such a serious offense... HOWEVER - time is of the essence.... the longer between the crime and the report, the evidence degrades and/or disappears and the offense becomes a more-or-less "he said-she said" type of investigation and may wind up not being able to be successfully prosecuted.
