If this is a Federal Student loan unfortunately, THERE IS NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS. If this is a PRIVATE, UNSECURED STUDENT LOAN, by LAW, this is subject to a STATUTE of LIMITATIONS. One quick way to check what kind of loan you have is to simply contact the Dept. of Education and ask them for a full account and record of all your Federal student loans. Depending on the competence, or honesty of the judge and lawyers involved, you should expect a reasonable resolution of the statute of limitations has passed. Sallie Mae is a dirty company and will lie about terms of your contract, date of origination and sometimes even what school the loan was for. Make sure to keep ALL your records and come prepared to court. Call an attorney and Good luck.
In the U.S. the answer is yes. If you OWE the IRS or your states Dept. of Revenue, there is no statute of limitations. If they OWE you, it's only a "sol" of 3 years.
Yes, there is no statute of limitations on the repayment of student loans. Federal collection agencies will try to collect on the loans even into retirement. In fact, the Dept. of Ed. will garnish Social Security income for defaulted student loans.
The California Dept of Justice website will answer your question.
Go to the California Dept of Fish and Game web site to find out.
my son when he was 17 his senior year of high school him and a friend did some spray painting/vandalism. This was well over a year ago. It happened in Oak Creek Wisconsin when we lived in Franklin Wisconsin. We move shortly after to Muskego Wisconsin. His friend got a ticket from Oak Creek last year and says he did it himself. 1) Why is Franklin knocking on our door today and demanding my son goes down to the Franklin police dept. 2) Can I demand to be present when being questioned? 3) should he not admitt to anything unless he has an attorney 4) If so will they just charge him and give him a ticket?
Approximately 23,000 according to the CA Dept of Finance.
Depends on what it is. The California Dept of Justice website has information.
Every state has a statute of limitations and it depends on your cause of action (type of case). Do not trust a well intentioned internet answer or else you may lose valuable rights by doing so. This is a technical area. Consult a local attorney to be certain.
You will need to contact your local police or the California Dept of Justice for the most current information on this situation.
The California Department of Insurance is located in Sacramento, California. They have several other offices that are also located either in or around the Sacramento area.
