The analog on a Xbox 360 is the analog sticks (left and right of the pad). You have 1 d-pad (digital pad).
You press the R3 button when you press down the right analog stick.

L3 and R3 are used when u push down the left and right analog sticks
Open your ps2 controller and make sure you know to remember where all the parts should be. If the problem is on the analog stick try cleaning it and if the problem is on the keys take all the components and check on website to see if the parts are in the right position.
My controller is doing the same thing when you push up on the analog stick it looks down and when you push down it goes up.
the l3 is the left anolog stick pressed down. same with right analog stick.
with any console controller now the analog sticks will click down. With the PS3 havine R1 and R2, R3 is when you click down the right analog stick and L3 is the the Left analog stick used as a button.
