There is no high-speed train connecting Lisbon and Barcelona. The high-speed train from Barcelona to Madrid takes about 2hr and 40mins. The normal speed train from Madrid to Lisbon only leaves once a day and takes about 10hr to get from Madrid to Lisbon. It is a smarter idea to take the high-speed train to Madrid and transfer to a bus that will go to Lisbon.
A train station was built in 2009 just at the borderline with Morocco in the city of Nador a couple miles from Melilla. The train connects with Moroccan rail system that goes to the south and the north of the country. You can take the train from Tangier to Nador in 10 hours to go to Melilla.
Barcelona has a train station, so it is possible to get there by train. However. where you are starting from (which you have not specified) may not have a station or indeed be connected to a rail network.

In order for "faster" to make sense, you need an alternative. It is certainly faster to take a train from Paris to Barcelona than walking or taking a boat. Compared to flying, it is slower. Compared to the bus, it is somewhat faster, but it depends more on the speed of the train and directness of the bus.
From the airport you can catch the train. The train will take you to a station called Sants, where you can get off and catch the metro. Take the blue metro line only one stop to Plaça de Sants and here change to the red line only one to Hostafrancs. From there you can easily walk to your Hotel.
