I don't believe that Research in Motion (RIM), nor its line of Blackberry products stands a chance in its current form. RIM has its opportunity to prepare itself against Apple (iOS) and Google (Android) a long time ago. Unfortunately RIM's founders (co-CEOs) took an arrogant stand that no one could touch the Blackberry (or its OS) in the smartphone market. They foolishly thought that consumers would prefer the physical keypad over iPhone's touch screen. What they didn't take seriously is Apple's integrated environment and amazing user experience. Something that no one can still copy. Blackberry is effectively dead and the new OS they're developing is too little too late. Apple's iPhone unit is a $100B business and they did it in the past 5 years! Now RIM is bleeding out and are in survival mode. There is no way they can retain the best staff, because those people will have realized RIM is going down. The domino effect started a while back. RIM is in effect, done.
