The preferred method for adding background color to an element is not through HTML, but rather through CSS (i.e. the background-color statement). Older versions of HTML support the now-deprecated (and soon obsolete) bgcolor element attribute.
The color contrast and effectors depends on other sections of it. There is no/hard way to answer this question definitely.
Something like this would work, emphasis on the style attribute. Replace #000000 with any color value of your choice; any color definition that normally works with CSS works here (since it is CSS). ---- ... ---- Profiles belonging to Social Networking Sites (like MySpace and Facebook) may have a specific way of changing the navigation bar's background color -- some may not have that option at all. See your Social Networking Site's FAQ section (or other means) as to whether changing the navigation bar's styles is allowed (and possible).
You don't use color as a 'tag' so-to-speak. To specify a color you have to add the color attribute to a HTML element. For example:your_text_here
if you have a theme installed, you cannot change your background in any way. but if you do not have a theme installed, you go to dashboard>preferences>customize>appearance> then there should be a button that says Upload Background Image

The easiest and quickest way is by using the Background Color Picker on the floating toolbar. At the very bottom of the toolbar, there are 2 color squares overlapping each other - the top is the foreground, the bottom is the background. Click on the background and use the eyedropper tool to pick the color you want, or enter the value in the boxes. You can also set the default background color from the Preferences panel (Edit - Preferences).
For an HTML docuement the default page background color is determined by the browser. The most background color is white. You can define a page background color in different ways. A preferred HTML5 method is to a CSS style to define the color. One way you can do that is like this: .

There is no natural way to change hair color. To change it you have to dye it or get a wig in the color you want.
You can change the color and style, but I can't find a way to change the size.
