Is there a way to force the back left window of a 1993 Lexus ES 300 to stay up instead of paying 650 for a new 'regulator'?

Have your repair shop use a paint stick. They did it for free on our GS300, rear window jamming the mechanism in the up position and disconnecting the switch to that window.
