Unfortunately, there is no known adapter that you can use to convert hdmi to dvi at the moment, but if you search best buy and staple, hopefully they will have some in stock.

Can you use a HDMI to dvi adapter and dvi to vga adapter to connect your ps3 from HDMI to your projector by vga?

No. HDMI to DVI uses a DVI-D or DVI-I connection and is digital, but a DVI to VGA uses a DVI-I or DVI-A and is analog. The best way to connect a PS3 to a projector is to see if the projector support component video through the VGA input using a VGA to component pigtail adapter. The projector might have even come with one. You then need to purchase a PS3 component video cable. This will allow resolutions up to 1080i (if your projector support it).

How do you connect a MacBook Pro to plasma?

Use the DVI port. You can use a dvi cable, vga cable (using the dvi adapter that came with your computer), or a DVI to HDMI cable. Just plug the cable into the computer and the tv and your Mac will do the rest.

What is a better cable, HDMI or DVI?

Both HDMI 1.1 and DVI are equal quality as far as video is concerned but only HDMI can carry audio as well. HDMI 1.3 has an option for Deep-Colour support - meaning more colours than maybe some older DVI displays can display. Be aware that all HDMI devices are likely to be HDCP compliant to protect content such as Blu-ray movies while older DVI devices may not have HDCP capability and so will not sure protected images.

Can you use your Benq T2210HD for your Xbox?

The BenQ T2210HD monitor only has D-Sub and DVI for inputs. Using a special cord or an adapter, you may be able to convert the HDMI output on your Xbox360 to plug in to the DVI port on your monitor, assuming you're not using it.

When using a DVI adapter with a HDMI cable how is sound processed?

DVI and HDMI cables are similar and compatible for digital video signals. HDMI also carries audio while DVI does not. If a DVI cable, connector or adapter is used anywhere in the signal path, the audio signal will be lost. As many computers have a DVI output and most televisions have HDMI inputs, it is common to find at least one HDMI input on a television with a linked analog audio input. It is usually a 3.5mm jack socket near the HDMI connector. To make use of it, the television's menu setting allows either HDMI or analog audio to be selected. Consult your television user manual for full details.

What cables do you need to convert your HDMI to a VGA connection?

You don't really need cables. You should first get a converter or update your graphics card so that it has a DVI output, then use a DVI to HDMI cable.

Since its a passive adapter it only supports single link. Dual-Mode DisplayPorts are designed to transmit a single-link DVI or HDMI 1.2/1.4 protocol across the interface through the use of an external?

Since its a passive adapter it only supports single link. Dual-Mode DisplayPorts are designed to transmit a single-link DVI or HDMI 1.2/1.4 protocol across the interface through the use of an external passive adapter that selects the desired signal and converts the electrical signaling from LVDS to TMDS. Dual-link DVI requires powered ACTIVE adapters to convert the protocol and signal levels.

Which cords are required to connect a mac to a HDTV?

Depends on the Mac. More information is needed. If newer unibody macbook you can use the "mini-display port" to either VGA or DVI adaptor. you will then probably need a cable that will connect those to the TV. In the case of the DVI which will give you better resolution you will probably want the DVI to HDMI adapter. That is what I use.

A VGA-HDMI cord can plug into my monitor via the VGA side and the HDMI into the output device. Is the LCD monitor output still going to be analog which would make that cord useless?

When you use a VGA cable coming out of the monitor, the monitor is giving out an analog signal through the VGA connection. For the monitor to give out a digital signal, you need a DVI or HDMI cable. The VGA to HDMI cord just converts the analog signal into a digital signal so it's not completely useless, however the quality will not be as good as an HDMI to HDMI or DVI to DVI or HDMI to DVI
