Is there an advantage to getting the 18 inch wheel to to the 17 inch wheel on a 2014 Ford Escape?

If you want to run a lower profile tire, that's about the only reason. There'll be a difference in steering and handling due to the weight difference... it might even be preferable for you. You also MIGHT get better cornering out of the 18 inch wheel.
