We do not know for sure as no ordinary Muslims is allowed inside. Only the statesmen are allowed to go inside and we have to believe what they say.
They say that it is a stone room with no electricity and no floor rugs. Just a plain stone room. In the middle of the room, there is a horizontal bar from which the utensils which were used by Prophet Muhammad are hanged. Apart from those utensils, it does not contain anything else.
Sometimes they let other people in, though. My mother-in-law was allowed in in the early 1960's, as she happened to be there when it was open for some reason, and said that it was a plain stone room with a wooden table in one corner. She said you can pray facing any direction inside.
