It could be:-Icarus planet. A hypothetical planet in Stargate1566 Icarus. A minor planet (Apollo asteroid)
I would have named it "Ralph", but those who came before me named it Kodiak Island.
The island at the very bottom of Greece is called Crete and the there is a smaller island below it named Gavdos.
The Tropic of Cancer does.
makemake was named after the god polynesian that lives at easter island
He[Daedalus]made a statue of Icarus to honor his death.
Icarus ignored his father's device and flew too high. The heat from the sun melted the wax holding his wings together. He fell into the sea near a small island near Samos. The sea and the island were both given his name (Icaria and Icarian Sea)
Icarus and his father, Daedalus, were (possibly) imprisoned on the island of Crete, and Daedalus, known for inventing things, made wings of feathers and wax. He and Icarus flew away from the island together, but despite his father's warnings, Icarus flew very close to the sun. The wax melted, and Icarus plummeted to his tragic, untimely death.
Daedalus' son was named Icarus.

When I read the story in the springboard book at school it was called Icarus and Daedalus but i think its the same story anyways the setting was the island of Crete.
His male friend is named Icarus and his female friend is named Cassandra.
In the myth of Daedalus and Icarus, the characters are Daedalus, an ingenious craftsman and inventor, and his son Icarus. They are imprisoned on the island of Crete and Daedalus creates wings made of feathers and wax for them to escape. Icarus flies too close to the sun, the wax on his wings melts, and he falls into the sea and drowns.
The story of icarus only has two characters in it. They are banished to an island, so it is just father and son. Icarus is the son, and the father's name is daedalus. You can find this text to the story online if you search it. It is about icarus flying with wax wings too close to the son, because he did not heed his father's warning.
Daedalus was the inventor of the labyrinth, and was trapped there too. Him and his son, Icarus, escaped, but only reached the edge of the island. To go over the water, Daedalus built wax wings, which he and Icarus would use to fly over the sea. Daedalus told Icarus not to fly to close to the sun, or his wings would melt. Icarus didn't listen, and ended up plummeting into the Iccarian Sea.
