Is there any kind of grant money to help feed feral cats?
T That is up to you. There are already too many cats, both feral and domestic, but they are living creatures. It is a difficult moral dilemma, since we are responsible for them being here, whether we should feed feral cats at all. My best suggestion is to follow your heart.
Yes, unless you belong to one of the recognised animal charities who are allowed to feed the cats.
These are called feral cats. Get involved in a TNR (trap and release) program that spays and neuters the feral cats and feed them. They usually live in a colony and can be helpful to the neighborhood if they're all spayed, neutered, and fed daily.
There are a few points to know about feral cats. 1. Most of them are carrying viruses and disease that you would not want spreading to pet cats (IE Distemper, Feline aids (FIV), Calicivirus and many others) 2. They are usually not spayed/neutered. Which means an overabundance of breeding and kittens. 3. If you decide to feed the feral cats you will more than likely be spending TONS of money on cat food because the colony will only grow larger with time. So if you don't mind any of the above then no they are not a nuisance.
If that didn't work, then you call the police and turn yourself in for animal cruelty.
Yes. Use separate bowls and wash all bowls frequently.
it depends if it hisses do not give it food but if it likes you feed it, feral cats wether friendly or not are still dependant on humans as the are the neglected domesticated cat, we have a responsibility to them as we are the reason for their dependence. I fed a mother and two kittens for a winter, they were never tame but I didn't have any mice either
You should definitely, stop feeding the cat...unless you want to own another cat!Usually it is not good to feed feral cats for fear of rabies, ticks and fleas. (BAD fleas) However, you can take the cat to the Doctor and see if has rabies or ear mites, ETC. Good Luck!AnotherActually, the biggest mistake was to feed them in the first place. like Javalinas, once you feed them, they don't go away. If you can make it through howling and screeching outside your door all day for a month, okay. Also if you feed just one cat, it can bring the whole clan next time because feral cats travel in groups for nursing and protection. If you want them to leave do not feed them in the first place!
Alert the authorities I guess, they will breed and make more disease ridden cats.
There are lots of things you cannot feed cats, or any other animal.
Cats are mammals so they feed their young milk from their mother's body.
The negatives are: The cats might turn against you :D The cat you kill might be pregnant or be needed to tend to a family. There is the possibility that the cat you kill is highly depended on and that death could lead to more. And you might get arrested or something
