Cummins motors are traditionally a nuisance to work on, but the 8.3 litre is a pretty solid motor. IIRC, the 1991 model year motors were all mechanical, rather than electronic. Your fuel mileage won't be particularly impressive... you can expect three to five miles per gallon.

Nope. At one point, they owned less than 10 percent of Cummins (not "Cummings"), but have since divested themselves of it.
