Allowing that we are talking about a computer controlled car.
The danger is that it may not realise it has a fault and cause an accident.
Machines are only as good as the designer.
That being said once we have changed over to computer controlled automobiles it will be much safer to ride in a car.

Though still being developed by various manufacturers, a driverless vehicle is one that doesn't require being driven by a human (male or female). One day, it is hoped that you and your mates (the same goes for females out with the girls) can stagger out of a nightclub, get in the driverless car, and say "Take me home!" The computers and sensors will take over. The car begins to move (forwards, obviously) and will avoid the drunken pedestrian (ignoring the pedestrian's 'V' sign) and continue to arrive at each person's address, in safety. The only problem is that the driverless car has yet to be able to eject each intoxicated passenger out of the car? Maybe, in the future, instead of air-bags we will need sideways ejector (very gently) bags?
There are many dangers in buying a used car. A couple major concerns are whether there are any liens of the vehicle, and the condition of the vehicle's engine and transmission.
