"Notebooks and laptops are not the same thing and this
is a perfect illustration of the distinction.
A laptop is a computer you put on your lap.
A notebook is a computer with a screen that folds down
over the keyboard (with a form factor like a paper
notebook, hence the name).
A laptop may or may not have a folding screen (the
earliest models didn't). A notebook may or may not be
"lappable" - i.e. it may or may not be small enough,
cool enough or light enough to hold on your lap.
A 19" notebook is a portable PC, but I wouldn't call
it a laptop. There's nothing wrong with this category
of machine, IMO - I personally keep my notebook on my
coffee table 99% of the time, and only carry it with
me to a place (in other words, I don't have a need to
bust it out in-transit on a train or a bus, I take it
out on a corresponding desk or table somewhere else).
Laptops are perfectly fine if you want a real
go-anywhere computer. But this is not a laptop, and
not everybody needs that amount of portability. Some
people just need a machine to act as a desktop most of
the time, but that still doesn't take up a lot of
space and can be moved around easily when needed."
moreover to confuse us all there are the tablet pcs
which might or might not have a keyboard.. and now
laptops are becoming so small, they will soon start
blurring the lines between PDA's and laptops
Hope this helps :)
The lenovo t60 is a ThinkPad, which is a brand of notebooks. The difference between a regular laptop and a Thinkpad is typically in the appearance and operating system.
There is no real difference. A thinkpad is just a brand of laptop computer created by IBM. There may be slight differences in design, but thinkpads run mostly the same software as any other windows laptop.
No. IBM did design and sell the original ThinkPad laptop. However, a company named Lenovo has been manufacturing and marketing the ThinkPad laptop since 2005.
IBM thinkpad, definitely.
The Thinkpad laptop was designed, developed and sold by IBM (International Business Machines Corporation). The first model was introduced in 1992, and since 2005 the Thinkpad is produced by Lenovo.
The main difference between these two laptops are the price and the quality. The Dell laptop is more expensive, but also of much better quality. The Lenovo laptop is for basic operations, as the Dell is made for gaming and lots of media use.
The ThinkPad T60p laptop is not longer manufactured. However, used ThinkPad T60p laptops can be bought with 60GB, 80GB, 100GB, and 200GB harddrive sizes.
You can access the internet on a laptop but not on a PDA.
Thinkpad, Apple, or HP
of course not !
