Restitution, on the other hand, focuses on restoring the parties to the position they were in before the wrongful act occurred, often by requiring the return of property or funds that were wrongfully taken. While both concepts aim to provide relief to the aggrieved party, tort deals more with compensating for damages caused, while restitution focuses on returning what was wrongfully acquired.
