The Irish Elk, Megaloceros, was the largest deer species that ever lived. The Irish Elk stood up to seven feet tall. The elk's antlers grew up to 12 feet long. Scientists believe the last surviving Irish Elk died around 11,000 years ago. This giant deer has become important to paleontologists to study in the debate over evolution.

If evolution is defined as the adding of genetic information to a species of animals while adapting to its environment, then there is no evidence of evolution. However, some modern scientists are redefining evolution as any mutation that may occur into a given species. This has created a great controversy because other scientists believe that the concept of evolution does not show itself through mutations. Their argument is that many diseases are caused by the mutation of genes, and are most obviously not a positive evolving of a species. In summation, no known species of animals has ever shown an increase in genetic information {DNA} only decreases.

Yes there is. In fact, humans are evolving. It seems that wisdom teeth, the veriform appendix, and possibly the little toe are all becoming or have become vestigial. These started as mutations, and turned out to be viable ones. As such, we are seeing a small but notable increase in the number of people born without a full set of wisdom teeth, and there is indication the vermiform appendix is getting smaller. As to toes, once we ceased being arboreal, it makes sense that a full compliment of prehensile toes (that break comparatively easily on flatlands) become more of a hazard than a benefit.

Insects and fish have also evolved within certyain specialized niches. Consider subterranean populations of both of these animals that devovled eyes out of the picture when enough generations had lived in a lightless environment. The key here of course is fast population turnover, so we can see evolution actually working.

Who proved evolution to be true?

Evolution as an idea has existed since ancient times. The first thinkers to propose that modern lifeforms evolved from earlier forms were Greek philosophers, like Anaximander and Empedocles, living centuries BCE. Naturally, they thought that the way life and the world presented themselves to them was evidence for their hypotheses. It wasn't until Charles Darwin that a comprehensive explanation for evolution was proposed, one that consisted of falsifiable hypotheses and that was supported by independently verifiable evidence to such an extent that it defeated alternative explanations in scope and accuracy. 10 errors in the evolution theory?

Well I don't know if I can come up with ten but here's a few. ~ There is no evidence in the fossil records of animals evolving. ~ The Bible says God created the animals. ~ The chances of an animal coming to be from just dirt is next to nothing. It is more likely that you would get struck by lightening a hundred times in your life. ~ The people that say that evolution was how animals came to be can't prove it. They weren't here so how do they know. ~ The genetic material of animals all points to a a couple beings living around the same time thousands of years ago, the great flood. Sorry these are all I could think of. I hope this was helpful.

What is fixity of species?

Fixity of species is a term which means all species remained unchanged throughout the history of the earth. This belief is generally not accepted by the majority in present times because of the vast amount of evidence supporting evolution.

What evidence is used to refute the theory of evolution?

There is no evidence that refutes the theory of evolution by natural selection. Critiques and arguments by creationist and ID advocates are always poorly thought out and easily shown to be wrong by even undergraduates. The arguments use straw men and other fallacies plus they have been refuted so many times that to bring one of these arguments up is to self parody.
