Nope.

Just like cooking a pot of beans, as we often do here in the

southwest, once you burn one little bean, the whole

batch is reduced to compost.

Where can you get hunts chili beans in Portland?

As others have noted, Hunt's Chili Beans were manufactured by ConAgra of Texas. Recently, that company discontinued Hunt's Chili Beans, to the disappointment of millions of formerly happy Hunts Chili Beans eaters. After much field study, my family settled on Sun Vista Brand Chili Beans as a near equal to Hunt's. Sun Vista canned products are found in most supermarkets in So. California and are certainly worth looking for in Tuscon, where many other good things can be found.

What qualifies as an all-meat chilli?

Chili does not have to include beans to still be chili. To make an all meat chili, you just wouldn't use any beans. You can add ground pork to the ground hamburger. As well, in some instances, if you want to add a little beef stock, that will also add a good flavor to your chili.

What can I do to soften Pinto beans?

Pinto beans are traditionally simmered until soft in a combination of onions, garlic, and ancho chili pepper. Other traditional things you can add are cilantro, tomato, cumin, and bacon. But you should not be limited to tradition. Try any spice or herb you like. I would avoid the "sweet" ones like cinnamon and cloves.

How much chili sauce for a chili dog?

I use ground beef with no beans. Add whatever seasonings you like or normally use with chili. Use tomato paste and hot peppers and some onions and that's about it. Keys to a good sauce is make sure to get your ground beef really fine while cooking and any other ingredients like peppers and onion keep fine as well.
