The crankcase drain plug on a 2007 Polaris scrambler 500 is hard to locate. However, it is behind the bolt in the skid plate.
my scrambler use to back fire i changed the spark plug and it never did it again
If a Polaris Scrambler transmission vent line is blowing out transmission fluid the fluid may have been overfilled. Putting the transmission fluid in the wrong plug can also cause this.

Not on any post 1998 models. Just a filler plug, located behind the front prop-shaft (drive shaft). The dipstick would be located in the same hole, on earlier models.
400 2 cycle has a couterbalanc that uses oil, dip stick/fill plug is under the caburator at the base of the cylinder should be a red plug with a screwdriver slot in it .Holds only about an ounce or so good luck

change plug and look for cracks in the head also check the carburetor for moisture
On my 2002 Sportsman 400 the drain plug is on the bottom of the transmission. It is in the large hole in the bottom of skid plate.
