This leak indicates a seal failure and requires replacement of the water pump .
water pump or seal gone bad
Yes. The seal for the water pump is bad. Replace it.
Only if it's going bad. When the bearing and seal are starting to go bad the water pump will leak from the weep hole.
water pump seal bad
It will leak from behind the pulley that runs the water pump. There is also a small hole in the bottom of the the pump case for that very reason. If the shaft seal goes antifreeze will weep from the hole.
Even if you have changed the seal, the water pump could still leak if the bearings are shot. Also, the water pump itself could be cracked.?æ
They will leak coolant. Either at the "weep" hole or around the shaft seal.
Most water pumps leak from the "Weep Hole" This means the seal on the shaft has failed and the coolant is running through the bearing. Alot of pumps fail the seal because the bearing is loose and wobbly.
No! The leak in the water pump shows a seal is failing and should be changed as quick as you can. It will only get worse and then you could blow or over heat something like the engine and have to replace it. Not a good thing.
to insure proper seal of the pump, if not properly clean surfaces that will cause a leak, which in return cause the replacement of the pump AGAIN.
Right below the snout, there is a weap hold. When the bearing, and then seal, go south, this is where the water leaks.
