There are a lot of reasons TO TAKE the chicks from the hen. However, it is kind of fun to watch the hen with her chicks, if you have the room to isolate them from the flock.
A few reasons to take chick from hen:
The chicks imprint upon their mother, and she raises them.
No Newly hatched chicks have a downy like soft pre-feather that remains under the growing feathers. It takes four to six weeks for them to be fully feathered. and that will last about one year. Adult chickens moult once per year.
Baby goldfish, once hatched from their eggs, are called fry
I have been rasing chicks for 2 years now and not once have I seen a baby chick help. But I could be wrong!
skuas take the eggs. there other predators will eat them once they are hatched
Yes you do if the male is being violent to the chicks. Especially if the female is being disturbed by the male or trying to defend the chicks. Get the female together though in the male's cage once and awhile so the couple will not forget about eachother, but do that a few days, (maybe 2 weeks) after the chicks have hatched. Depends on the age of the chicks. If they are out of the nest, pecking at them is natures way of weaning them to eat on their own. If they are very young, I would put male in a cage setup right next to the female, so he can continue to feed her through the bars. The female depends a lot on the male after the chicks are hatched.
birdysOnce hatched, baby penguins are called chicks and as they mature, fledglings. Once they molt away their down and won't be sunk by that water-weight, they are simply called penguins. Any bird nomenclature is appropriate for penguins' life cycle..
Well, baby chicks are in the incubator to be warm. I once watched them hatch out of it. They take exactly 21 days to hatch. You're welcome.
Once a year, they mate in the Spring and are laid & hatched in Summer
Where = In a nest hollowed out of a tree trunk. How = The bird's eggs are laid then incubated in the nest and once hatched the chicks are fed in the nest until they fledge.
Yes Once the chicks are hatched and raised she will start to lay eggs again. This can take a few months. Some broody hens will care for the chicks until they are about 8 weeks old and try to brood again right away.
The simple answer is - they don't !... Once a baby snake is born or hatched - it is completely independent of the parents.
