It depends on what you're upgrading: Hard drive: Use a program like DriveXML to image your current drive, then use it to restore once you upgrade.
Graphics Card: Uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones.
Motherboard: Uninstall drivers, install new ones, you may have to re register Windows.
