In most areas of the country there are Pagans of various paths who are "out of the broom closet." A bit of basic investigation in your area will most likely get you a few names. Try looking at bulletin boards in your local New Age, or Metaphysical book store and shops. Or check you local college or university, they often have notice boards of various groups for students.
Once you have a contact name, decide what you want to interview the person about. Is this for a paper or a project you are doing, or is this for your own information? The answers to these questions will greatly effect your chances of getting your interview.
Once you have a subject to interview, be polite and courteous in your approach and be prepared to accept some rules from your interviewee. Be respectful of their beliefs and requests, even if you do not believe, try to remember that they do.
In some cases you may be invited to join the group for an evening as an observer. In which case know in advance what you can and can not do. Are you allowed to take photos, or use peoples names? Once again I stress be polite, it is unprofessional to ridicule or make light of what you do not understand.
If however you are unsuccessful in finding some one in your area, you may want to try to get in touch with the Pagan Federation and do a "phone" interview. If that is all you can get, at least you will be talking to people that "know".

What is a member of a coven called?

The leader of a coven is a witch. Male of female, they are a witch first. In some groups they are called a High Priest and/or High Priestess. Generally speaking all practitioners are Priests/Priestesses as they all have the right and ability to speak directly to their deities, If you encounter a Witch Queen, you are talking to a woman who has created and lead three or more covens (circles or groups).

What are the main factors to identify a witch?

A witch is a Wiccan, someone who practices witchcraft, but if they don't tell people about their religion it's almost impossible to tell a witch from anyone else.

Who started the suspicion of witchcraft?

Suspicion? Witchcraft is real, there is many witches today, but they are not like you think. Search "Wiccan" into Google and research a little. It is a very interesting religion. But remember a Wiccan is not necessarily a witch and a witch is not necessarily a Wiccan. Blessed Be. (source: i am a wiccan witch ;) )

Two different kinds of the word Witch?

Which witch are you talking about or witch and wiccan?

How do you locate a witch?

How long do you have to wait after beginning to study wicca to become a witch?

You do need to be a member of a coven to be a witch, or be initiated by someone higher up. There are some reputable books on the subject of solitary witches, and how to make the most of your Practice when you are on your own (after all, it is not uncommon to be the "only wiccan in the village." However one needs to be intiated by a lineaged Wiccan, and then leave the coven to be a solitary wiccan. Furthermore it is traditional to wait a year and a day before initiation. I urge you to continue your study of Wicca. If you are drawn to the Lord and Lady and are most comfortable with a religion which honors fertility and sex, then as your actions naturally align themselves with the tenets of Wicca, then you are not quite a witch yet. You still need to be initiated.

Do you have to be wiccan or pagan to be a witch doctor?

Not necessarily.

Answer if you are a witch?

i dont really get your question, but yes, i am a witch. ----- No, the answerer above^ is not a witch. He/she is a Wiccan. There is a distinct difference. "I", on the other hand, AM a witch. A rather young witch. None in my family have magic abilities; not even that of a gypsy. But, yes, I am a witch, NOT a Wiccan. ----- A witch is anyone, male or female who calls and considers themselves one. The practice of Witchcraft is common among many spiritual paths. It would be not just rude, but unwise to denigrate the true beliefs of others.

Is there a witch coven actually called the charmed ones?

no

What kind of a witch are you?

To my knowledge I'm one of the very few Witches that actually answer this board. My proper title is quite lenghty. I personally don't like titles, because they don't explain the essence of who I am, as a person. But since you asked... I'm a Solitary Ecclectic Spiritualist neo-Wiccan Witch and Traditional Gypsy Witch. I'm also an honorary High Priest of my coven.

What is the name of a witch assembly?

A gathering of witches is usually called a coven.

What is a solitary witch?

A solitary Witch is a Witch who privately practices the Craft most often in solitude. They may or may not associate with a Coven or Coven members. They are generally not an accepted member of any Coven. You could compare this to a Christian who prefers to worship Christ in the privacy of his/her home; and who is not an affiliated member of a Church. There are many reasons for this type of practice; sometimes personal.
