Windows 7 is currently the latest version of Microsoft Windows. There is a Windows 7 SP1, which includes fixes to things in the original shipping version of Windows 7, but there is not a newer Windows 8, for instance. Microsoft is currently working on Windows 8, but no release date is set as of this writing.
Yes, Windows 7 was released on October 22, 2009, and there has been a mention of Windows 8 and 9 coming in the future.

Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 7 is still currently in Beta stages and have released a RC (Release Candidate) of their Windows 7 Ultimate. Windows 7, in some versions, has a capability to run in windows XP mode, this may be what you are referring to.

Windows 7. Microsoft released a lot of versions of windows and several editions to all of them for clients(PC's), servers and devices.
I suggest that you DON'T do this for certain reasons... for example: there are newer 3d chips.
Using windows xp and windows 7 presents a security risk. Try to use the newer ones
