There is no interest in gender to be a pilot. However, more men are interested in physics, engineering, aerodynamic, aviation etc., and they recognized their goal earlier and started flying. In this decade, more and more women became pilots and proved there are no difference between.

∙ 14y agoThe Commercial Aviation industry has man more men pilots then women pilots. This industry is typically not something women get into. This can be for several different reasons, but most of your major airline pilots have served in the military, which is where they recorded the several hundred hours of recorded time flight needed to become a commercial pilot for companies such as Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, ect. With the role of women changing in the military it is possible there will become more women pilots flying your commercial jets, however, for the time being it is almost 99% mail pilots in the industry.
Now it is hard to get an estimate of the percentage of female recreational pilots as that is not something the FAA tracks
