The Bible is enough proof. And, some pieces of Noah's ark have been found on Mount Ararat.

No there is no proof of this at all. Here is what researcher found.

Urartu Archaeological Map Borders (Red) with Urartian Archaeological Sites (Orange) based upon Dr. Paul Zimansky's research

Since the upper reaches of this volcanic mountain are covered with broken lava rock everywhere and are currently extremely difficult to ascend or descend, its present state makes it a poor location for Noah's Ark to land and for all the animals to easily descend. Some have theorized if the mountain was lower after the flood and then was uplifted later on with more volcanic activity around the parasitic cones similar to Little Ararat. Yet, Mount Ararat has the bulk of the purported eyewitnesses of the boat-like structure since 1850. These "alleged" eyewitnesses are one reason why the search may continue on the mountain.

Given the extensive research which has taken place on Mount Ararat, it seems fair to say that if Noah's Ark ever survived into modern times and is somewhere on Ararat, there are few new places remaining on the mountain to search unless it is buried under the ice cap or lava. There have been many expeditions, accounts, alleged sightings, anomalies, and claims of discovery involving Mount Ararat. What is lacking is any scientific evidence or photo that shows that Noah's Ark survived until today. However, one should also consider the possibility that Noah's Ark landed on Mount Ararat and was subsequently destroyed, which is the possibility alluded to in the article Even If Noah's Ark Is Not Proven, Noah's Ark Still Could Have Landed On Mount Ararat.

Given all the ground and aerial expeditions (and one with sophisticated mapping capabilities), one should surmise that if the remains of Noah's Ark are indeed on Mount Ararat, they are not in plain view; if the boat is there, it must be buried. There have been 2 attempts that used sub-surface Radar (Ground Penetrating Radar - GPR) technology on Mount Ararat to look under the ice. The 1988 Willis expedition and the 1989 Aaron/Garbe/Corbin expedition used GPR. The 1988 Willis expedition successfully surveyed the eastern summit plateau and the saddle area between the two peaks, concluding there were no Ark remains under the ice. The 1989 expedition was not as successful as the preceding year, where a less-capable GPR system was used in temperate (melting) ice cap conditions on the western plateau of Mount Ararat. However, they were able to determine the ice depth on the western plateau and scale the size of the Ark. As the next generation of commercial RADAR Satellites become available, the GPR will not be needed and it should be clear if any anomalies are underneath the ice cap.

If the remains of Noah's Ark were in moving ice on Mount Ararat (there is only one legitimate glacier, the Black Glacier, though there are other moving ice flows like the so-called Parrot Glacier), the Ark would have been ground to bits. ArcImagingcontends that until the entire mountain has been adequately "sub-surface" surveyed using the latest RADAR technology, some people such as the alleged eyewitnesses contended that the Ararat ice cap contains the remains of Noah's Ark since about 90% of the supposed eyewitnesses claim that the boat was sticking out of the ice even though the explorers over the past 50 years did not see the same boat-like structure.

There is no scientific evidence at all for the story of Noah's Ark. Some creationists do try to fit the scientific evidence to the biblical story, but can only do so by distorting facts and by ignoring those parts of the evidence that are inconvenient.

For example, claims that the existence of fossils is proof that pre-historic animals died suddenly in a world-wide flood is scientific nonsense, as the real evidence shows otherwise. A great Flood would have animals drowned and buried at random, not in carefully arranged intervals, with the most ancient animals and plants at the bottom of the geological column, and more recent species nearer the top of the column. It is inconceivable that species would be buried in just the same sequence in all parts of the world where the same species is found.

AnswerIf the Flood of Noah's day was a real historical event and was worldwide we would expect to find some or all of the following evidence on the earth:
  • Lots of sedimentary (water deposited) rock all over the earth.
  • Evidence through fossilization of rapid burial of millions of organisms in the above strata.
  • Sufficient water on the planet to 'do the job'.
  • Very little evidence of pre-flood civilization i.e. culture and language arising relatively recently and suddenly.
  • Very different climate on the earth in the past.
  • Many flood stories in the various people groups around the world (including from people-groups who toady live in desert environments).
  • Lack of Genetic variability supporting descent from a small population
  • Mutation rates suggesting a recent origin for mankind
  • massive vulcanism in the past
  • All of the above are in fact amply demonstrated to be so.

In relation to the amount of water, a flat earth would be covered to a height of 1 1/2 miles. Add to this the recent discovery of a massive ocean underneath East Asia (estimated to be similar in size to the arctic ocean). This discovery suggests there may be a lot more water in the planet than we know about.

In relation to climate, there are coal deposits in Antarctica, as well as common scientific recognition that the climate of the planet has radically changed in many regions from the past (although of course the time-frames given are in most cases different).

Regarding fossilization, it is clear that many organisms were buried both rapidly and catastrophically. Massive fossil graveyards speak of rapid burial and of specimens being washed into their final position by water, a lot of water. One alone could always be a local flood and some may indeed be so, but there are many of these around the world.

Lack of real genetic variability suggests that humans have arisen from one individual. Some studies of mutation rates in mitochondrial DNA (mt DNA) have suggested that the human population could not be as old as normally suggested since we would not exist. The human genome shows evidence of running down. Thousands of genetic disorders are documented. This documentation due to modern medical science demonstrates the true nature of our genetic make up. This relates to the flood since this is believed to have happened in the relatively recent past. The state of human genetics as science reveals it is not inconsistent with this.

The massive vulcanism in the past is an acknowledged fact. It is generally interpreted as fitting into a long-age paradigm. Under a different interpretation 'the fountains of the great deep' which are specifically connected with the flood would relate to massive vulcanism. Contrary to popular misconception, a high proportion of all volcanic eruptions (even today) contain water (around 80% or higher).

It is also widely acknowledged in geology today that many events thought to take millions of years can in fact happen very rapidly, including geologic processes connected with Noah's flood.

  • If the flood of Noah was a real event in history it needs to be understood what scientific evidence would be found. This has been summarized as the following: "millions of dead things buried in sedimentary rocks all over the world."
  • This expected evidence does in fact square with the scientific reality which we find (as discussed above).
  • The conclusion that we reach from this is that this event has real proof in the scientific sense, although some will choose not to believe this for philosophical reasons. This is not science but faith.
