No, computers only tell time in binary
EDIT: HAHAHA, I believe the question is referring to PST and GST sales tax, considering it's under the topic "Buying Computers". Yes Computers have GST and HST sales tax. But no PST.
GST is first applied ,then PST.
GST is 5 % of the price of the item and PST is 7 % but now we have HST which is 12 %
It depends on the province where you live:British Columbia: 7%Alberta: 0%Saskatchewan: 5%Manitoba: 7%Ontario: 8%Quebec: 7.5%Prince Edward Island: 10%New Brunswick: 13% (GST and PST combined)Nova Scotia: 13% (GST and PST combined)Newfoundland and Labrador: 13% (GST and PST combined)
The GST rate across Canada, including Ontario is rated a 5%. The PST rate in Ontario is 8%. The total tax percent, GST & PST combined is 13%. On July 01, 2010, the existing GST & PST will be replaced by one tax called Harmonize Sales Tax (HST). The tax rate will be 13%. The price tags on items will now include the taxes. For example; A sweater price tag says, $13.56. You will pay ONLY $13.56 Right now, the same sweater price tag says. $12.00. You pay $12.00x5% GST=0.60 , $12.00x8% PST=0.96 Total cost $13.56 The only difference is your receipt will show $12.00 + GST/PST and total of $13.56. With the HST,you won't see the taxes, because it's included in the price. Your receipt will only $13.52 total price. Hope this helps.

If you are not a licensed dealer, then you don't charge state tax. The dmv will collect the taxes due, you just have to make sure you fill in the amount you sell the car for on the back of the title or on a bill of sale. The above-answer is only partially correct: it does NOT apply to Alberta. GST is a federal sales tax and generally does NOT apply to sales of used items between private individuals in which the seller is not deriving income from sales of that category of item. GST may apply to a used car sale between private individuals only if: [1] PST (prov. sales tax) applies, and [2] the particular province's PST has been blended with the federal GST. In that case, that province's Vehicle Registry will charge and collect the PST/blended PST&GST. In the case of Alberta, since there is no PST, there cannot be a blended PST&GST; therefore no GST is payable or chargeable on the sale of a used vehicle between private individuals in which the seller is not deriving income from sales of used vehicles ("curbers"). The AB Motor Vehicle Registry only charges GST on the price of the 'products' it sells: license plates, driver's licenses, etc. Zero tax on the actual vehicle sale itself.
pst (provincial sales tax)--7% gst (goods & services tax [canada wide])--5%
It has some of the best ways to tax the people. Gst, pst, hst, cars, houses, etc.
Private sales of used cars pay only the PST. Used cars bought from Dealers pay both PST/GST (the dealers are providing a service - go figure).
HST stands for Harmonised Sales Tax and is the combination of GST (General Sales Tax) and PST (Provincial Sales Tax)
I've imported a car and a motorcycle from the US into Canada. This is what I know about importing vehicles, and I think it's the same for appliances: It depends where it's made. If it's made in the US, there is no duty and you will pay GST/PST at the border. If it's not made in the US, then there is a 6.1% duty, then GST/PST. Hope this helps.
