If it is a circulated US coin after 1964 then no. If 1964 and before circulated dimes, quarters, half dollars and dollars had silver in them.
CorrectionSilver was removed from US half dollars in stages.> Coins dated 1964 and before were made of an alloy of 90% silver and 10% copper.
> From 1965 to 1970 they were made of clad silver, for an overall composition of 40% silver and 60% copper
> Since 1971 they've been made of the same copper-nickel clad metal used in dimes and quarters.
Hmmmm. This is a trick question, huh. The two US coins that total fifty-five cents are a fifty-cent piece and a five-cent piece. The fifty-cent piece is the one that is not a nickel.
6-16-11>>> The coin is very common, most are only valued for the silver, about $5.00
Unless it's a high grade uncirculated coin it's value is bullion, that as of today is $6.60 just for the silver in it.
A fifty cent piece and a nickel.
Sorry no US 20 cent coins dated 1802
The coin's still in circulation and is only face value.
Looking for someone to tell me what some old coins worth
Yes, the "Half Dollar"... (aka, the "Fifty-Cent" piece)
No. The US Mint did not issue any gold JFK 50 cent pieces.
a silver/gold dollar coin and 2 fifty cent pieces
No silver one cent coins have ever been made by the US, but it may be a silver 3 cent piece, they were made from 1851 to 1873. Look at the coin again and post new question
50 cents, they are in common circulation and contain no silver.
