Yes. An Indian elephant is one of the subspecies of the African elephant that can be found in the jungles of the Indian subcontinent. The Indian elephant is on an average around 3.0 tonnes heavy. Full grown large male elephants are known to weigh upto 4.5 tonnes. Females are usually smaller than their male counterparts and have been known to weigh as little as 2.7 tonnes.
